RIP Trish Keenan

Trish Keenan, lead singer of Broadcast, one of my favourite bands of all time, passed away today after a short illness.

I’m having trouble parsing this news at the moment – my thoughts go out to her friends and family.

I’ve never really been in this situation before and I’m finding it really hard not to trot out meaningless clichés. Instead, here’s what I said last time I wrote about them:

“I can’t remember a time when I didn’t love Broadcast – and I can’t remember a time I’ve ever fallen for a band so completely and so fast. Even today, every time I listen to The Noise Made By People, I’m reminded of the first time I heard it, and how overwhelmed I was, and it makes me need to sit down and catch my breath.”

…and here’s my favourite Broadcast song.

Rest in peace, Trish, and thank you for everything.

It’s Radio Nixon!

My never-ending, needlessly verbose quest to finally find an answer to The Two Questions:

THE FIRST QUESTION
“What sort of music are you into?”

THE SECOND QUESTION
“What’s your favourite record?”

It's mostly just me talking about some of the records I've got, really. Talking a lot.
